Writing On Skin Poem by Nassy Fesharaki

Writing On Skin

Writing on skin

I read in the news
"Trump warned Ayatollah,
Dictator of Iran who called him
"A joker, " "Watch your mouth! "

The comments made me laugh,
The latter is too dumb,
While both lie and cheat us.

My laughing was because
I recalled Reza Shah
(Father of the late shah of Iran.)

He tried to gather and repair
The pieces of shattered body of Persia
Thanks to the mean rulers of London
In few centuries, when at top
Of the world's horse, power.

Britain is devil
Behind the bloodshed
In name of the anthems
And many ill-made-faiths.

Lawrence made Saudis,
Burton was before him,
He entered the Mecca
As spy…to insult…

See Burton in search of Africa
And his source of income
Being the "Thousand-Nights"
From our Scheherazade
To make the Arabs' Nights
From which Hollywood
And the ones who publish
Pocketed lot of wealth
Misguiding the people
From the truths, facts
Of our old stories…

Reza Shah followed the
Asia's Napoleon
(Nader Shah)
And heroes that he had
In ancient Shahnameh…

He acted as he must
Strong, also wise,
Unlike what we see in
The bully Donald Trump.

Reza Khan knew of
The London making sheikhs,
All chosen, selected
To be paid, supported
By Pounds and armament,
One of such was Khazal.

Reza Shah went after
All the tools and the ways
And tactics and manners
To repair and unite divided…

He met my late uncle
(A Mullah in those days,)
Influential and leader,
And sought help for Jihad.

My uncle praised his intention
To unite the nation:
"But I am man of faith! "

Reza Shah gathered the
Dogs that were astray
And donkeys and asses.

"On them write Sheikh Khazal,
And let them scatter!

People saw value of
Sheikh Khazal
Being beast or a dog,
So, went for Reza Shah.
