Writing Poetry To Order Poem by Jonathan Goldman a.k.a JGthepoet

Writing Poetry To Order

How can I write,
When words will not come,
To put in verse my thoughts,
When asked to submit by poetry.com
A new Work, when time is short?

The request made at the end of May,
For inclusion in their new Book,
But think and plan,
For scan and verse,
Made the task in hand seem worse.

I had not written for two weeks,
Poetry Block had hit me again,
To write to order is not my style,
But again, I pick up my pen.

It is not hard to write the words,
But to make sense of it to you,
Takes time and effort late at night,
And is something I should not do.

The style I use to communicate,
Must flow on paper,
As well as in my Mind,
To use words that can be understood
By You and ALL Mankind.
