I write in tears, I sing in pain
I write in blood on my grave
this is the pain I've felt so long
the cold stones can't sing my song
I grieve, I live, I grieve some more
I open and close the coffin door
I jump out and climb into a tree
I fall out and break my knees
and then I breath and then I bleed
and I shut myself inside
without a light I write and write
with a knife in my side
just the pain when I close my eyes
keeps me barely alive
there's no place to rest and so I write
I write in blood and then I climb
out of the coffin, into the tree
I see what I can see, what I don't want to see
and then I close my broken eyes and I cry and cry
and fall to my knees
every day I die, every day I bleed
just me and the graves and the cemetery trees
this is life, they say I should be happy
'For what? ' I ask, but there's no one that answers
written on a broken stump are the words, 'It never gets better'
pain again, my friend, this is the hereafter
another day passes, why won't I just die?
loneliness and emptiness in my heart where's my love?
A broken tree and poetry
written in blood.
