Xavi Poem by Edward Kofi Louis

Xavi

The last "Slave-Ship" left Cape Coast Castle in 1830,
With schnapps, cigarattes and chocolates as well;
So why do you bring charges against me? !
When, you also have a past.

Memories,
Memories of life,
Memories of the past!
My name is called Xavi;
But, my Great-Grandfather was an Arab! !
A moment like this with my muse.

False manuscripts of life!
With our works on earth,
Mankind! !
Why? !
Seeing their backs,
And not their faces.

Minds! ! !
Time to think;
With the ink of love,
Pink, wink!
Not to sink;
Only to see the light of the truth.
