Years And Life Poem by akram saqib

Years And Life

Here's an attempt to translate the verses while preserving the general meaning and emotional tone:
The year has passed, but the longing persists,
The journey's over, yet the path still exists.
Your words I've left behind, it's true,
But thoughts of you still linger anew.
Our friendship's faded, it's plain to see,
Memories of you still haunt me.
Old wounds have healed, it seems to be,
But the pain of them still sets me free.
Saqib, the world has turned, it's plain,
But worldly desires never wane.
