Yellow Poem by Brian Archibald

Yellow

Rating: 5.0

My life has gone, & passed me by. Criss-crossing from left to right, leaving me in the shallows, at times I feel disrupted, at others just looking for a new venue to stand on. I need a set of strings to hold me up, I need a smile to cheer me up. A bright shade of yellow to fill me in.

Everyday I long for more, good moments pass by. Love is filled in with just another blank. Your indrempting thoughts are threw down, your dreams stomped in the ground. Yellow dirt covering your eyes.

Soon enough, it's time to cut the bonds with your own rules. Bury the dogs in the sky. Cover up your tears in the fog.

White haze drifting in my eyes, thoughts of being number one always on my mind. I see nothing, but a wall. That unimpenatrable wall. Useless lies, yelled from spouse to spouse, drifting you off in your corner.

Looking for a reason to yell back, wanting to be number one. Is it possible? Shaking with cold sweat. Drenched in thoughts of my past. A wake of sorrow running down my cheeks, I see nothing now but unstable chairs. Walkways filled with my memories.

Drumming in my ears, let me be. If I can't make it better, neither can you. I feel all yellow. But soon enough i'll drift off. Only to repent your stench. Cut away from the ones who 'care.' Unable to make myself myself smile.

Yellow walls glazed with piercing stares.

The yellow sky, filled with the only one who truly knows.
