Yes Lord Poem by Johnathan Stokes

If I were God
yes, I'd create silly apes,
yes, I'd create multiple religions
and let them war over which is correct,
yes, I'd give them strict moral laws,
yes, I'd create a devil
to tempt them to break those laws
when they are not busy fighting,
yes, I'd wrap some in doubt
and others with none at all,
yes, I'd threaten them with eternal torture
or an eternity of worshipping me as a reward,
yes...
If I were God
the people would rejoice on Sundays
singing to me, 'My God is an Awesome God...' and
'Yes lord, yes lord, yes yes lord...'

If I were God...
but wait,
that whole notion is just absurd!
