Yes Your Love Makes Me Soar - Poem by Gloria Comingore

When we met back in 1986, you could always make me soar
As I stand in the shadow of your smile.
You light up my day, as you look my way
I miss your lips when they are not kissing mine
And I know our love is rare as I soar higher in the sky
Yes your love makes me soar
Yes your love makes me soar

Your love makes me soar higher than a kite on a windy day
The funny things you do, just to make me laugh
The tender way you kiss my hand as we walk through the sands of a beach
The way we talk without saying a word for we have no need for words
And as we laugh at a private joke at the same time, in the same way
Yes your love makes me soar
Yes your love makes me soar

Our dreams and promises have never been broken for are minds are as one
For the love you give me is all I could ever need in this lifetime
You come in from a hard days work and you call my name
It was the same way those many years ago as we met, as it still is today
How much more could I have been blest as I soar high above the trees?
Yes your love makes me soar
Yes your love makes me soar

As I still soar in my sleep as are hands are linked
Do you remember how the sparks shocked us the first time we touched
There’s no where else I’d rather be, but in your arms as the years fly by
I’d rather be at home with you alone any day
Than any where else in this world with someone else be my side
Yes your love makes me soar
Yes your love makes me soar
