Why speak of the past—
of the one who made me weep,
who came bearing a cup of poetry
laced with poison?
I had yearned to study,
or perhaps to become an ascetic;
yet, bound by worldly attachments,
I was swept along the river of life.
Accepting the decree of destiny,
I embraced the poem of my life;
today, I stand at the crossroads,
searching for a new poem.
Tell me, my Lord,
where must I go next?
