Yesterday Poem by Gert Strydom

Yesterday shots were fired
at the school of the children
while they were waiting on the school bus
and one of the parents were attacked

by criminals who tried to rob his car
and right through the children
the robbers and the parent
did fire shots at each other.

The criminals did flee away
and for some people that parent was a hero
but I was very upset
and just happy that my boys were intact.
