Yesterday Poem by Jordan Jinx

Yesterday

when they were apart
he cut into his skin
when they were together
she felt so dead within
more weight on the shoulder
of a man with twenty eyes
and feathers in his hair
what a hippy

all alone in the airport
taking a step forward
to always fall back
quiet expedition for the girl
with ribbons on her skirt
and secrets caught in her throat
she hoped for him to come
sneaking pills in her big blue tote

moving to an empty seat
at the bus stop in a new jersey
the lines between his tailored suit
scream injustice
he hoped for her to come
he wore a floral tie
just like she wanted.
