You Poem by Pondering Portrait

You

Buried amidst time past
And memories long replaced
Within the tunnels of my mind
Is the ghost of your face

With vast seas that part us
And the future that’s promised to
Could it be that you’re not real
That I conjured an image of you?

You’re voice is nothing but a whisper
All I see is a whispy blur
You used to seem alive to me
And now I’m not so sure

When I close my eyes at night
To my dismay it seems
You’re presence no longer lingers
Within clouds of my dreams

And I’ve felt so empty, deep inside
Now I know the reason why
That’s the place you used to be
Before we had to say goodbye
