You Again Poem by Sarah Holmes

You Again

Your there again, haunting me,
Was hurting me not enough?
You thought you’d leave your mark here,
So I could never forget you.

I want to shut it off,
Find the off switch for emotions.
But I can’t though,
You can’t switch off love.

You’ve destroyed who I was,
Because you were my everything.
I can’t find myself again,
As I think you have the missing piece.

I know you have her,
And you say we don’t work.
But I think we could,
If you’d only give it one more try.

Yet our decision is final,
Although we made it in haste.
I guess I’m left alone,
Haunted by our memories.
