You And You Alone Poem by David Lovell

You And You Alone

Rating: 5.0

When blackness gathers around me
I look for the light of grace and mercy
of You, and You alone.

Set in array, darkness besieges those I love
In tears I pray for all of us deliverance from above,
from You, and You alone

The raging onslaught refuses to cease
In these evil times help me know the peace
found in You, and You alone

There is struggle also inside of me
Lord, give me strength that my life may be
lived for You, and You alone

Each breath I take, each beat of my heart
I have not forgotten that the gift of life in whole, not in part,
is from You, and You alone.

I really like this poem. A lot of poems praising God use the same overused words and ideas. You write with a more creative aspect. Wonderful. ~Linley~
