You Are A Proud Fellow Poem by Francis Duggan

You Are A Proud Fellow

No matter what others of you have to say
Your life is your own and you live it that way
Your praises them you don't need for to sing
You live your own life and you do your own thing
You do not harm others your conscience is clean
And though money scarce with you and times on you lean
You keep on keeping on the white flag you won't show
At success you are not scared to have a go,
Though others may see you as an also ran
What they have to say about you why worry you are a proud man
They do not pay your grocery bills for you or help pay your rent
Let them have their views you do not owe them a cent
And though others to you they may not drink a toast
You are a proud fellow far prouder than most.
