You Are My African Queen Poem by G. Akanji Olaniyi

You Are My African Queen

I have heard of Cleopatra
Just taken out of the astral
I follow the cosmic stream
The comet’s light in a beam
I have walked the cardinals
And connected all the terminals
Yet, effort in futility
With great anxiety
Now like the lion and the jewel
My heart stays here
Never straying anywhere
You are the day that gives me energy
The night that soothes my lethargy
The light of my darkness
An eternal glow of my happiness
Now that I have found you
Cleopatra, is but a minnow to you
You are my priceless queen!
You are my African queen!
