You Are My Soul Poem by Jim Ful

You Are My Soul

I love you
You are my being
You are my soul
How do I deserve you?

Your eyes have flowers,
Your hair, golden silk.
Your lips so soft,
I yearn for them.
You are pure love.
Everything about you,
Pure, Heavenly love.

You do so much for me,
You do it all without question
As to why you are compelled to do them
Some you do when you don't realize,
Like your eyebrows that raise when you talk
Uniquely yours, gifted to me.
Your heart beating,
Your chest rising,
Just for me.

Why do you love me?
Why am I worth it?
How did I get so lucky?
Please don't stop,
It will kill me.
Your heartbeat is why I live.

March 2012 marks the first 5 years
That composes our existence,
But I've known you since the beginning of time.
I can't live without you,
You are my very being
You are my soul.
