You Are Not A Poet Poem by Hebert Logerie

You Are Not A Poet

You are not a Poet
If you are weak
And afraid to speak
To read, to write
To laugh, and to fight.
You are not a Poet
If you cannot rhyme
Of course, that's a crime
Oh! You are not a Poet.
If you lie
You're not a Poet.
A Poet is not afraid to die
A Poet defies the dictators
And challenges the oppressors
The bullies, the status quo
Anything that's false, fake or faux.
If you are a puppet
You are not a Poet
If you cannot use your words
As your deadly swords
You are not a Poet.
If you are not an activist
If you are not a pacifist
If you are a marmoset
You are not a hero.
If you are not a warrior
If you are not a fighter
You are a zero.
If you are afraid
If you are just an aide
If you cannot say
What you want to say
You are a coward
You are a lizard
You are not a Poet.
If you are a Poet
You are brave
You can never be a slave
You are a threat
To the devils
To the imbeciles.
If you are a Poet
You are intelligent
You are independent
You are resilient
You are patient
You are not a pet.
You are a Poet
If you speak your mind
You search, seek and find
And you tell it like it is
With style and great ease.
If you are weak
And afraid to speak
To read, to write
To laugh, and to fight
You are not a Poet.

One of the strength providing poems ever read. Truly said poet, we can only be true being if we speak our own mind. Loved your way of narration. Humorously written!
