You Break My Heart Poem by Bartholomew Arkoh Boamah Sarbah

You Break My Heart

You break my heart
When you say you love someone else
Happiness flees from my side
Sorrow sets my heart ablaze

From far away I got to know you
You were mine the first time we talked
I called you by your name
And you responded

That response, so mellifluous
It still echoes in my ears
I carried you in my arms the first time we met
And I wish I could do it over again

I kissed your palm
And you were shy
I have given you my love
But you want us to be friends

I have gone far;
Friendship can not be a solution
When your presence would bring sad happiness into my heart
And I quiver to see you in the arms of others

Would you invite me to your wedding to torture me?
You break my heart
When you say you love someone else
Then I wish we never met at all

But destiny has made it happen
And now I have only a choice;
To let you go away forever.
