You Did It Poem by Rachel Brewer

You Did It

You did it.
Just now.
After that final message.
You broke my heart.

You did it.
In those words you said.
That told me,
We would never be.

You did it.
And tried to make it into something,
That it wasn’t.
All because you wouldn’t tell me the truth.

You wanted to say,
It’s because your ugly.
That’s it.
No other reason.

You kept babbling about the situation,
About how it would be awkward.
You are wrong.
And I know it.

But you’re too afraid.
Afraid to take a chance,
Afraid because of what people would say,
If they saw you with me.

You did it.
You broke my heart.
And I wish you hadn’t.
Because it really hurts.
