You, Forever Young Poem by Edwina Reizer

You, Forever Young

I have grown old
since you have gone
but in my mind you're young.
You left too soon
and I still here,
uncommited to death I clung
to a life without you near.

How would you look
as an older man?
I try to picture you best I can.
I see you as before
not old and gray as I.
I do not wish that vision to change
ever before I die.

For to me thou art
my youthful lover still.
My body yet remembers
a not forgotten thrill.
I have grown old
since you have gone.
In my memory you never will.
