You Forgot How To Love Poem by Scott J. Shepard

You Forgot How To Love

I wish you remembered how to love
Like mix tapes
And scribbled pencil lines
Romantic paints and devotion
To you

I wish you knew
How much a heart can bleed
And pound and beat
Out of this damn chest of mine
like stupid marbles
gone in my stupid mind
again

crazy in love
like just take my hand
and dance to our favorite song

but you wont
because you forgot how to love

instead you're law suites
and business suites
and ties and wartime rights
As if shooting back the smoking gun
Was that one fair shot in life

you forgot how to love
its roses for no good reason
its holding you
because there's nothing
more serene than treason

its poetry
and romance
and forget it
you forgot how
forget it
I'm sorry

With Love,

I meant it
