You Found Me Poem by Dakota Ellerton

You Found Me

I tried to bretahe,
but gasped for air as the tears ran down my face.
I could feel my hands shaking,
as I tried to grasp my heart between my palms.
Never had I clawed so hard to remove it.
I’d collapsed to the floor,
covered by a coat of blood.
All I’d known of truth and love,
had been stripped from my innocence.
My chest began to pound as I read my messages,
I’d begged no more,
but gluttony is such a sin.
I binged and purged on every word you’d chosen to feed me,
but cling to the control of time.
You’ve weaved a web of lie and truth,
into such a blackened state.
The ink dribbled and ran from my wrists,
as my hands numbed.
Secrets whispered to my lips,
I’d given you an unforgiving kiss.
