You Go To Your House Of Worship Poem by Francis Duggan

You Go To Your House Of Worship

You go to your house of worship for to pray
But good on you for that to you is all I can say
And though that only proves on a god you believe
Lets hope for that good things from life you receive.

I hope the god you believe in to violence is uninclined
A warm and loving god who is caring and kind
One who will inspire you for others to care
And of your own shortcomings to be more aware.

You go to your house of worship your god's praises to sing
And the great gift of faith 'tis a marvellous thing
But the religion of your god or the size of your car
Does not tell of the type of person that you are.

You go to your house of worship for to pray
But do you at least do your one good deed every day
like being kind to one of kindness in need
As kindness and compassion to self betterment lead.
