You Have Not Seen Everything Yet Poem by Mohabeer Beeharry

You Have Not Seen Everything Yet

You have seen a great deal,
You say, and you are proud of it!

You have seenexotic places and snow crowned mountains
You have seen valleys swept with flowers,
Great cascades tumblingfrom on high
Oceans and seas!

But have you seen yourself yet?
That one in the mirror that stares back at you,
Is the same old failing stuff that comes and goes.
It is a cart
It is a carriage, not you!

On the way of life it meets with a great deal buffs and buffets,
Then comes the day when it is completely blighted,
To rise no more.
Poor thing!

The one to see is the one that sits in the carriage,
Unaffected,
Floodcannot wash it
Storms cannot scare it
Nor sword can cut it,
The same now and for ever!

Him the mirror cannot display
Him of which life is scared for he is immortal.
He does not fall and he does not rise,
Like his Creator, he only continues to stand
Even when all around him, everything is falling, never to rise again.

Him my friend we need to seek and see.

A beautiful mystic poem that reminds me of the great Rumi's message n thought. A subtle call towards spirituality that works on the reader's mind in an impalpable way. The surrender to the almighty n the merging with the invisible so artistically depicted. The spiritual awakening is a delightful feeling as the poem so well reflects.
