You Knew We Couldn't Fix Ourselves Poem by Gary James Smith

You Knew We Couldn't Fix Ourselves

You Knew We Couldn't Fix Ourselves

You knew we couldn't fix ourselves
So You came to do the task
Our sin was insurmountable
Our eternity at risk
So down you came in humbleness
To become my Deliverer
And deliver us...You did! ...Praise God!
My God how great Thou art!

You walked amongst men with great love
Great grace and great mercy too
With great forgiveness in Your heart
To make us sinner's anew
And brand us with Your Holy Spirit
In the hidden heart of men
The day that we repent of our sin
And become sinner's born again

Your agenda has not changed
Nor have You changed as well
You are still seeking to save the lost
Our God Immanuel
Salvation as Your precious gift
A blest life for eternity
Upon saving faith in Jesus Christ
Whose truth can set men free!

Hallelujah what a Saviour!
