You Leave At Midnight - Poem by Colin Coplin

Baby I love you, what’s life without you
Why do you leave me when you say you don’t want to

You leave at midnight
Each and every midnight
Disappear into midnight
I hate the midnight
I just want to shoot off the hands of midnight
Shoot off the hands of midnight
Shoot off the hands of midnight

You use to hold me, like they do in the movies
I watch each night, to keep from being lonely

You leave at midnight
Each and every midnight
Disappear into midnight
I hate the midnight
I just want to shoot off the hands of midnight
Shoot off the hands of midnight
Shoot off the hands of midnight

For when I wake up and you’re gone
The ghosts of darkness dance ‘til dawn
Man’s not born to sleep alone
It’s wrong, it’s wrong, it’s wrong – wrong, wrong, wrong

You leave at midnight
Each and every midnight
Disappear into midnight
I hate the midnight
I just want to shoot off the hands of midnight

Baby is there another, you need to cover
I’m going crazy like some adolescent lover

For when I wake up and you’re gone
The ghosts of darkness dance ‘til dawn
A fairytale that seems all wrong
Like Cinderella you're gone, gone, gone, gone

You leave at midnight
Each and every midnight
Disappear into midnight
I hate the midnight
I just want to shoot off the hands of midnight
Shoot off the hands of midnight
Shoot off the hands of midnight
I hate the midnight
I just want to shoot off the hands of midnight
