You Left Me Poem by Katie Obrien

You Left Me

My world took a beating from that day on,
When I was told I would have to try move on.
You weren't going to be there anymore,
Yet I had to try and remain strong.
Your infectious laugh would light up a room,
But now? It's gone! And there's nothing I can do.
I heard you every single day,
But now? All I can do is try to pray.
Ask you for 'guidance' and 'support' when all we want is you here with us.
I know we all can't have as we wish,
As life can't serve on a silver dish..
But I'm glad you finally got to see,
All who wait in heaven for me.
