You Left Me For Another Asking Me What You Were Worth Poem by Daya Nandan

You Left Me For Another Asking Me What You Were Worth

You left me for another asking me what you were worth,
Without realising that in my eyes you are my love, my earth,
I would revolve around you like the moon around the world,
I would get beaten up and hurt to save your life my girl,

Time passes but this just feeling remains the same,
The feeling when you are close and I whisper your name,
When you left me, my heart was shot by a thousand guns,
Yet after all this time my love still burns like a thousand suns,

Now when I look at those once kind eyes,
No longer do I have the spirit to rise,
Nothing to tell me get up when I fall,
No hope, no light, just an empty wall,

A wall of faded memories that we once shared,
A time for me that you once truly cared
A moment in time when two beats coincide with rhythm,
A time of now dead love that transformed into a phantom,

Now all I see is a face of another in those eyes,
It truly hurts to know that even love dies,
It hurts me deeply to say that I still love you,
It would hurt if only you could see me through,

All the special things I want to do for thee,
All the things you are to me,
All the love I have to give,
And the life with you I want to live,

Does it all mean nothing in those once bright eyes?
Do you not realize that stars still live in the daylight skies?
Will you not look past the clouds in the sky,
And see that my love still hides in the heart of thy,

Yes time has passed but do u think my feelings would fade?
Do you think a knight would cast away his blade?
Do you really believe love is something to throw and trade?
Do u really think that for you I wouldn't catch a grenade?
