You Should Have Listened To Me Poem by Emma Jane Rae

You Should Have Listened To Me

Oh how I wish,
You'd have listened to me,
Instead of sinking,
And engolfing yourself,
In such misery,
Oh how I wish,
I'd have tried once more,
To get you back,
To how you were before,
My heart is broken,
But it's broken for you,
For myself, For our dogs,
And your family too,
I know it's not you,
It's part of your illness,
And it's present again,
Because you didn't take care,
Of your wellness,
Your up and your down,
Your round and around,
I search in your eyes,
But you just can't be found,
You've lost your mind,
And your beautiful ways,
You've a long road ahead,
It won't just be a few days,
You've hurt me,
In ways I can't explain,
And although I will heal,
I think the scare will remain,
Mental health has rotted your brain,
And I don't know how,
Things will ever be the same
