You Stand There Poem by Gabrielle Tastet

You Stand There

You stand there,
Utterly unaware of how amazing you are.
All I can do to stop myself from staring at you,
Well,
It is being done.
You stand there with a smile plastered on your face,
Laughing
And joking.
You look so perfect even if it is only in my mind,
Then I see the twist on your face to reveal the other side of you.
The passion you keep hidden so well,
It has exploded on your countenance.
Your visage has such intensity that it melts me with each glance I take.
Your eyes,
the same color as mine,
Run as smooth as chocolate through my soul,
Piercing me with questioning peers of adoration.
All I know is that I want you to hold me close
And tell me that I'm yours and always will be.
Never having to worry that our passion will fade.
For now I wait,
And I try my hardest not
To fall
In love
With
You.
