You Tried Too Hard To See
Yes, you try
To see beyond the walls
That shields my heart from thy sight.
Yes, you try
To read from my dark eyes,
Words that are left unspoken,
The covered hurt that raise its head,
Once in a blue moon.
But how can you see?
When you tried too hard see,
A soul plain to a baby,
A heart that weakens with time's whips.
A heart that awaits Cupid's battle of waterloo,
To conquer its resolve.
