You Were Born Before I Gave You A Birth - Poem by Nazrul Islam

You were born
Before I gave you a birth.
You grew, you flourished,
Even you surpassed my height.
I thought, I dozed and then I slept,
And you then kept your pace.

Ages rocked, my head was knocked
And I woke
To see you wrapped in red and white.
You heal the soul,
The rest heal bole
Knowing not the tender kernel.
Heal me up, now, I'm so bleed,
My sleep has made me dead!

I knew not, I dare not,
How I gave you birth.
Yes, ...
You were born
Before I gave you a birth!

Poet's Notes about The Poem

This poem is written in praise of my dearest student, a budding poet Krishnakhi Goswami to inspire her in her poetic career.

The title really called me to read it and the idealistic words you chose definitely conveyed deeper in readers mind_Unwritten Soul (Report) Reply
