You were there for the calmest of times
You were there when I needed to cry
You were there when I least wanted
But when I needed you the most
You weren’t there
You weren’t there when the times got rough
You weren’t there when I needed to talk
The hardest thing for me to ask is
Why?
Why weren’t you there?
Why did you leave?
Why was it that the one I confide in left?
Dad when I needed you the most
You weren’t always there.
