When I walk out the door
You will not hear the doorknob turning
or the brass bolt slide from the doorjamb
You will not hear the latch mechanism move
You will not hear the hinges creak
You will not hear the ouside noises
or feel the air in the room equalize
You will not hear me leaving
But in your heart you will feel the shutting of the door
And the emptiness that you sow
I will shake your dust from my sandals
