Young Poem by Jonathan Galassi

Young

Rating: 3.1

I tried, and each attempt was a fiasco.
I yearned, but every love of mine was wrong.
I needed, and the shame was overwhelming.
I failed, and so I hated being young.

short and to the point. fail all you can when you are young and you will have plenty experience and time to succeed for when you fail at old age, regrets and pains will accompany you to yonder...

This is so the voice of every young man, dreaming of what would be. I have been with 34 women during my lifetime. Some people believe that since I remember them well enough to count them that I am simply bragging or putting notches on my bedposts. Nothing could be farther from the truth. I can count them because I do indeed remember each and every one of them. And I remember each of them simply because each of them, in their own time, was the most wonderful and incredibly special thing that ever happened in my life. Well, I am asked, how can they all be the most special? I don't know. But they are. That is what I see - sort of, in your poem Jonathan. Pretty cool.

I'm not so young to know everything, but I know that I like this poem.
