Your Absence Poem by Rachel Henley

Your Absence

Rating: 5.0

To break away, without closure,
no finality in the ending of all that mattered.
Nothing is settled, just left behind.
Pack all that you call yours, in cardboard boxes,
there is no cardboard box you have for me.

I kill myself everyday with questions,
that only you can answer,
oh the beautiful torture of your absence.
Whiskey to subdue the lonely pain,
the blur makes a wonderful companion.

You could have me, for all that I am worth,
for what we had, you can take it all back.
It was all for you anyways,
I am all yours, always.
