Your Heart Is Pure Poem by JAMES T. ADAIR

Your Heart Is Pure

I see all your outward imperfections
But they fade away more each day
When our eyes meet so softly
And we look into each other's souls this way
We meet in a place so near and far away
so innocent and sweet
As if we were still children
and our hearts were young and striving
pure yet moldable and incomplete
I stand next to you as a boy
and feel your heartbeat
and fall in love with you a thousand times
While soft music somewhere in the distance plays
And we both sway to the beat and rhymes
and we kiss and feel so whole and somehow complete
You're so wonderful in this light
Your love so indelible and such a treat
I felt love for you the moment we first touched
And everytime since that we met and meet
I long for you each morning when I arise
And each night as I pray before I sleep
As we kiss you move like sunrise
And the earth moves under our feet
I feel your heart of gold
as the moonlight dances upon the street
You're my little girl somehow
And you don't seem to mind
We're cut of the same cloth somehow
We're different but we're the same kind
When I'm with you, I know somehow
No more pure a heart could I ever hope to find
I hope all your dreams here forward are happy and silverlined
Knowing all along....such gentle love is so rare and hard to find
