Your Heart Is Surrounded Poem by norman hale

Your Heart Is Surrounded

Your heart is surrounded
By a solid plate of steel
Though it keeps on beating
It won't allow you to feel

Your love is held back
Never allowed to be released
Afraid of falling victim
To loves ferocious beast

Though it shows through
That smile up on your face
It stays hidden inside
From most of the human race

But deep with in your heart
There's a love that's so true
If it where ever to be released
The days would end of you feeling blue

If you remove those plates of steel
Your love would come shining through
There would grow a smile upon those lips
There would be no more days of blue

So let that love light shine
For one and all to see
So open up your sweet heart
And let your love run free
