Your Pointless Fear
you teach us to talk
but most of you
don’t know how to listen
no voice of our own
our thoughts voiced
but never really heard
you silence us
expecting us
to only speak
what you want to hear
you want us to grow
but no room do you give
independence you speak of
we are never allowed to know
the more we fight
the less you give
the future we fight for
the one thing you fear most
