Your Story Poem by G. Akanji Olaniyi

Your Story

I have seen; seen; seen
yet seen merely nothing
I have heard; heard; heard
yet heard merely nothing
I have smelt; smelt; smelt
yet smelt merely nothing
I have spoken; spoken; spoken
yet spoken merely nothing
I have tasted; tasted; tasted
yet tasted merely nothing
I have touched; touched; touched
yet touched merely nothing
There seems more to be seen; seen; seen
There seems more to be heard; heard; heard
There seems more to be smelt; smelt; smelt
There seems more to be spoken; spoken; spoken
There seems more to be tasted; tasted; tasted
There seems more to be touched; touched; touched
Of course! I am not insatiable
Oh no! I am not a glutton
There are just more; more; more
More than necessary
More than abundant
They say the world is shrinking
To a 'global village', I have been told
Yet it does not reduce what to be seen; heard; smelt; spoken; tasted; touched
Alas! The smaller the world becomes; the larger what are left to be seen; heard; smelt; spoken; tasted; touched
Your story is just an account in billions of amazing accounts
Now take your seat, fasten your seat belt, relax and get immersed in a world where you can never get enough!
