Your Trophy Poem by angel lockheart

Your Trophy

Rating: 1.5

</>I know I feel too much,
My emotions are raw,
Despite the hurt in my life,
I’m too innocent,
And I can’t shield my body from you,
I haven’t learned how yet,
In my emotional sense,
I’m dumb and blind,
My body won’t learn from its mistakes,
It’s like an untamable animal,
And because of this,
It happens again.

The pain comes,
In an overwhelming flash,
Knifing through my heart
With ruthless cruel strokes,
Never stopping,
An echo of my aching soul,
Throbbing a rapid rhythm,
Tears of blood streaking down my face,
Bleeding until I’ve run dry,
And I’m numb to the pain,
My body a frozen emptiness
A case with no inside,
And your malicious laugh,
Running from the beginning
To the end of me like a blade,
Leaving only empty holes in its wake,
And your spiteful voice,
Reverberating inside my head
Resounding to my heart,
Where the vibration is so powerful,
It splinters it,
Like a high note to glass,
Into smithereens,
Where you continue to crush it,
Turning the pieces to dust,
And even then you don’t stop,
You persist to strike a match to it,
Catching the remains on fire,
Watching the measured burn in slow satisfaction,
Until all that is left is ashes,
That you brush into a neat pile,
And then you pick it up,
And stow it in a jar,
Your trophy,
Of me.
