Your Voice Kills Poem by Samantha Rose Turner

Your Voice Kills

The sound of your voice whispering in my ear,
Brings me the painful joy that your near.
Hearing your voice again feels like a year of torture,
As it peels my heart open like a can.

Your voice is like a knife, it cuts through my heart.
Your eyes are like poison, they kill me when I see them.
Your hands are like rocks, they fracture my heart to pieces.

Why do I fall so deep into your arms,
knowing you won’t catch me?
Do I still love you?
After everything you’ve done it seems impossible…
But maybe I have.

But when you love something,
you’re told to set it free. To let go.
That’s what im doing, yet it’s so hard.
I’ll try to keep breathing.
Try to survive this atrocious pain.
