Your Vulnerability Is Not Your Weakness Poem by Kenneth Maswabi

Your Vulnerability Is Not Your Weakness

By nature, human beings are vulnerable
Bombarded by the forces of nature
Assailed by the pellets of their shortsighted discourses, ideas and opinions
Human beings are buried alive by debts, conflicts and shame
The ego in its fragile mental state is a gallery of stupidity and diluted intelligence
Stigma and shame wraps around the pedestal
of human existence
The fear and trauma of failure is left undefined and unclassified, yet it is the primary cause of our incapacitated state of being
Success is held higher than common sense
Mental health diseases are a spreadsheet of our human intolerance, neglect and distorted belief systems
Peer pressure, competition and the fear of the unknown have replaced compassion, cooperation, support and hope
The mind is a beautiful canvas for us to pour our positive vibes on
To paint a beautiful life for ourselves and others
Yet, we hold it hostage for our own selfish individualistic needs, desires and even wicked ways
There is a full blown pandemic of materialism
Everyone is gathering shiny pellets of nonsensical items
In order to outcompete their neighbors, colleagues, family and friends
Hatred is pasted on the billboard of our mental space, blinding us to the inherent goodness in our hearts
Jealousy becomes a weapon to bash others with
It is an all out race for personal achievements, material gains and accolades
Human existence has been downgraded to a platform of survival of the fittest
Hoarding resources has been normalized
The negative consequences of these acts are bundled together as statistical evidence of the detrimental effects of human weakness and laziness
Poverty is seen as an individual's disability
Not as a well-polished dogma of human negligence, intolerance and distorted belief systems
The Spirit Poet is assailed by all these human made disasters
Left to untangle the debris of these man-made afflictions
My pen is a solid testament of the clarity of our being
The Truth remains the central point of our existence
When bad things happen to good people
It is only the Light of God that will illuminate and save the world
Your vulnerability is not your weakness
Faith, Hope and Love are your shelter, shield and spear
