You're Family Now Poem by Randy McClave

You're Family Now

No one ever belongs in a closet
From hate or shame or because of it,
That is where the jackets and coats go
And where old decorations people throw.
But, if you feel safer going inside
Go, and I'll guard the door to protect your pride,
Even though I might not agree with you
I feel sadness for the suffering you're going through.
If you need someone to come out to and talk
I am here and together we will walk,
We will talk about the things that you wanna talk about
And I will not ever scream, or judge or shout.
If you want I will read you a Bible verse
Maybe about the creation of the universe,
And how God gave us all a free will
And how Christ had died for our sins on the hill.
I will give you all of my support and my love
As God has gave it to me from the heavens above,
And how my parents gave it to me as well
So, in love and peace I will forever dwell.
A farmer sows his seeds in the fertile field
Knowing already the crops that he will yield,
Whatever you plant with your hand
Remember this, the Lord will bless your land.
If in your family or friends you do not find support
From your life or living do not ever abort,
Just hitch your reins on another plough;
You're part of my family now.
