You're The Best Poem by John Carter Brown

You're The Best

YOU'RE THE BEST

I'll be there if you'll be there
and there it is we'll meet
don't be late 'cos I will
straight away be on my feet

When you called and told me
all about your little treat
all about the 'in crowd'
out and dancing in the street

I was glad, I have to say
that you wanted me to stay
picked me out from all the rest
I hope it's true that you're the best

I'm a willing trier but
I haven't got the moves
I'm not a crazy shaker
I create no tasty grooves

Still and all I didn't fall
I didn't you disgrace
didn't let you down we danced
then left without a trace

And I was glad, I have to say
that you wanted me to stay
picked me out from all the rest
I hope it's true that you're the best
I know it's true, you are the best
