Zeus Poem by Martin Webb

Zeus

With breath
of living fire,
features chiseled
from the sky

He launched in primal wrath
upon the forces of the chaos

Giving rise
to the great monsters of destiny,
Begetting man
and all matter in the universe

His progeny
became legends,
all inheriting the earth

And they danced in effigy
beneath the sky
