Zion's Last Days Poem by Anugo J. Edoka

Zion's Last Days

ZION'S LAST DAYS

Civility is having it's last rites
With the aide of the savage media
Both press and social
Solecism and moral upheaval have taken the rights.

Our girls are regrettable sights, they once wore clothes
Our boys won't work but seek riches in cloud-cuckoo-land
Parents would parent no more
It is frightening to think everything good is about to be closed.

Books are miserably sitting on the shelves
While our youth, rich in leeway
Neglecting the norms, have bought destruction;
Upon their already depressed selves.

Porn to entertainment and entertainment to porn
Marijuana, drugs all for what?
Inner peace this decadence never will provide
And our children with eager imitation, looking on.

Men lay men, morality has failed
Water have eclipsed our garri
Providence aggrieved
And in one small test, we have failed.
