She

I crawled through the hardships of life to become a woman;

Never regretted any decisions that i made in my journey;

I learnt to survive in the midst of the hungry wolves in the society.

i asked myself, 'Why do i have to go through this pain? Why me, Lord? Why? '

And he always answered, 'Because you are the chosen one.'

There were times when i wet my pillow with tears;

I asked myself a thousand times; 'How am i going to live my life? '

Hunger and speculations made me stronger in life.

I walked through the streets with my head held high,

People laughed and spoke ill of me; I knew i had to go through this because i was a woman;

But this motivated me to live my life with courage and strength.

When the stars came out in the vast sky i never forgot to kneel and offer my thanks to the one who sent me here;

Because i believed he was teaching me to face life and i was learning it as a humble child.

I realized that for every sunset there has to be a sunrise and so life taught me that, for every tear there has to be a smile in the offing.
