Ode To 'potholes'!

ODE TO POTHOLES

I-205 JUST DOWN THE ROAD
PEOPLE MAD ABOUT THE TOLLS
WHILE I DAILY SIT AND PONDER
‘BOUT THE ROUNDABOUT POTHOLES

PARKS AND REC'S NEW PROJECTS
SURELY ADDING TO THIS MESS
WHILE ALL WE ASK THE CITY TO DO
IS THEIR POTHOLE FILLING BEST

HAVING TALKED FOR MONTHS WITH THE CITY
‘BOUT THE POTHOLE'S GROWING DEPTH
WONDERING WHY FIXING POTHOLES
THE CITY BECAME SO DANG INEPT

IS IT LACK OF MONEY
OR IS IT LACK OF STAFF?
OR JUST TOO MANY POTHOLES TO USE
THEIR POTHOLE FILLING KRAFT?

THE TRUCKS, THE CARS, THE TRAILERS
RATTLING BY THROUGHOUT THE DAY
HAD FRUSTRATED CITIZENS TRY FILLING HOLES
WITH DIRT AND EVEN HAY

LUSCHER FARM IS AT THIS CORNER
FARMING ISSUES MIGHT BE MOLES
FARMERS NOT TO STOP THEIR FARMING
TO FIX THESE DARN POTHOLES

THE SUMMER HEAT IS ALL BUT GONE
CAN'T BE A RAINY WINTER FIX
THE POTHOLES ARE JUST WAITING
FOR A BIG BAG OF READY-MIX

AS THE CITY'S PAVING SEASON
DRAWS NEARER TO IT'S CLOSE
I PRAY TO GOD THEY FIND THE TIME
TO FIX THESE DANG POTHOLES!
